Ahhhhhh! I Miss My Camera!

My camera isn't working right.  Thankfully it happened just before warranty ran out, so it is being fixed for free.  I am dying without it!!!!

My Little Sneaky Stinker

I was getting the kids' lunch ready and once I had them all organized to eat, I realized that Owen was being really quiet.  We all know what that means... yup, that's right.... shenanigans.  I went to find him, and this is what I saw...

Owen got into one of the kids' party bags.

 

 

He didn't mind getting caught either.  He just flashed a big smile and kept right on enjoying the lollipop... cute kid.  How can I get mad at that face?  I can't.

...to grandmother's house we go

Last weekend, I surprised the kids and took them to visit their Grandma Marilou.  They were super excited!  We spent the night for a couple of nights, which was a nice little getaway.  It was just in time, too, since it's snowing this weekend.  When we went, the roads were dry and the weather was so nice, so it was perfect.  Also, Grandpa James didn't have to work all weekend, which made for some unexpected quality time.  It's not often that we go there and he's not working.  It has been so long since we were down in Salt Lake, that the kids had an amazing time.  Jaxton, of course, cried when we had to go home.  Luckily, Thanksgiving is right around the corner.  It was so nice to see my Grandpa John, too.  He's so fun to watch with the kids.  He and Jenna were quite the buddies this time around.

Since Mitch works for Panda Express, we have tons of Panda shirts.  Every time they have a promo item, the employees have to wear the shirt for it, and then when it's over Mitch just gives them to us.  We all wear them for jammie shirts.  I had to get a picture of them matching their Uncle Mark.

 

 

 

Owen loves glasses.  He had a really good time trying to get them off of Grandpa James' face.

 

 

Jenna has discovered the art of fake sleeping.  It cracks me up.

It's so funny to me that this girl bonds so much with Sadie.  There was once a time when she was soooo scared of her!

 

 

I've got to get any picture I can of the kids with their Great Grandpa John.... especially the babies.  If a picture opportunity presents itself, I click away.  I want to have plenty of pictures to look back on.

The kids had so much fun swinging on the porch swing.  I don't know how their little butts could handle it without the cushions.

Well, Grandma Marilou attempted to get a nap.  It didn't last very long.  Kayla was happy to jump up on the couch and interrupt her.

I have no idea what was on t.v., but apparently is was a pretty interesting show.  Owen and Grandpa John were so intrigued.

A Fall Hike

 

We did this a little while ago, but I forgot to post it.  The kids and I have never been hiking before, so my dear friend and neighbor decided that she was going to show us what we were missing and took us on a little hike.  It was so much fun and I loved watching the kids.  Had I brought warmer clothes for the kids, then maybe we wouldn't have had meltdowns by the time we got to the car, but all-in-all it was a good time.  I should've known better than to underestimate the colder weather in the mountains.  I can't wait to do this again sometime!

Halloween 2013

This year was Owen's 1st Halloween.  As cute as it is to dress up little babies, I opted not to.  I knew from previous experience that he would just be bundled up and no one would see it anyway.  I was right...

 

But underneath all of that bundle, he looked so darn cute in his candy corn jammies

Kayla and Jaxton were a little bit more elaborate this year than in the past.  Jaxton was a vampire so, of course, he required face makeup and fake teeth.  Kayla was Repunzel from Tangled, so she had a long wig.  Both thought they had super awesome costumes... until they had to wear them.  Jaxton had his teeth out before we even left the house.  His cape came off before we got to the house next door.  Kayla's wig only stayed on for a couple of pictures, and even at that, it wasn't without complaint of how much it was bugging her.  I at least got a couple of pictures.

And this would be them only half dressed up for trick-or-treating...   no one knew Kayla was Tangled

 

 

We went trick-or-treating with some neighbor friends.  Her son is only three and was a champ.  His little legs did so good keeping up with Jaxton.  I'm actually surprised that Kayla kept up so well, too.

 

Jenna started out walking, but she and our neighbor friend, Brynn, ended up being strolled.  A whole neighborhood is just too much for their little legs.  Jenna was excited that I let her enjoy a piece of candy while she rode in the wagon.

 

Then came the ever anticipated moment of dumping out the candy!  Owen was super into it and tried really hard to get through the wrappers, but couldn't. He was really mad when it was all over and I ended up taking it away.  The others thought their candy was amazing, and Kayla caught on to the art of making a trade this year.



Overall, it was a good night.  The kids already can't wait until next year...
