Evidently, out of control baseballs may hit the man-in-the-moon

Jaxton's new favorite sport to play is baseball.  He has a really good arm, and we got him his very own little baseball glove that he LOVES!  He used to just love when we would pitch to him and he'd try to hit it.  Over time, he's gotten pretty good.  Now that he has his own glove, we are working on playing catch.  It's a work in progress... the catching part, that is.  He's got the throwing thing down, though.  Well, while we were playing he got sidetracked with baby Kayla for a minute, and so while I waited for him to come back to our game of catch, I occupied myself with throwing the baseball in the air and catching it.  When he saw this, he thought it was the most amazing thing.  He decided that I should keep throwing it higher and higher and when it got to a certain point, he said, "no mommy, STOP!"  I asked him what was wrong and he said to me, "Don't throw it in the air that high."  I said, "Buddy, you just told me to throw it higher.".  Then he said to me, "No mommy, no!  Don't hit the man-in-the-moon!!!"  Cute boy, he makes me laugh.

Jaxton's 1st swimming lessons!

Today we took Jaxton to have his very first swim lesson class.  It was so much fun and he loved it.  We had our moments of stubborness, but all-in-all I'd say he did really well.  He was the most scared of trying to float on his back.  Eventually though, he did it... with me not letting go, of course.

Kayla's 1st Steps

A few days ago Kayla took her 1st steps!... June 7, 2010, to be exact.  We were in the backyard and she stood up in the grass and took two very determined steps.  After that, she knew we were watching and wanted her to continue so, of course, she stopped.  Being that she's little miss stubborn, she has refused to do it since.  That's okay though.  It just gives me more time to enjoy the state of babyhood that she's in.  Once she decides to take off running, I have a feeling those moments of cuddling will officially be out the window.  Sad day...

A whirlwind of a month

May seemed to come and go faster than I could keep up with.  I can't believe that we are already in June.  May was an especially good month for me for two reasons:

1. I was able to go visit my sister and her husband, and meet my new little niece, Payton
2. I finally got a cyst removed that has been on my leg since I was pregnant with Jaxton.  It has caused me so much grief and will not be missed!

The kids seem to have grown a lot this past month.  Jaxton seems to be hyperactive and thinks that the world is amazing.  He has come to love the phone and is left feeling incomplete if he does not talk to every single person that we talk to, whether it be something like technical support from the qwest guy, or someone like Grandma or Auntie Brenda.  The kid cracks me up!
Kayla is growing like a weed and has such a personality.  She is so stubborn and refuses to walk, even though we know that if she would just let go of our fingers, she can do it.  She blows kisses now and loves, loves, loves to wrestle with Jaxton on Mitch's and my bed.  It's so cute to watch the two of them together!
