Jaxton's 3!

I can't believe that my baby is already three.  Every year I always can't believe how big he is getting with no comprehension of how big he will actually be the following year.  I can't believe how the time flies. 
On Saturday we had Jaxton's birthday party at Fat Cats.  It's a local bowling alley that is like a dream come true to kids.  It has this really big area to play games and lots of flashing lights and a counter to get prizes with your tickets from the games you played.  Jaxton was in heaven.  He and Uncle Mark won tons of tickets which scored him this way oversized tennis ball that you could kick around, a wallet (now he thinks he's just like Daddy), and a blue mechanical pencil that he never puts down.  After bowling and games, we went back to the house for cake, ice cream, and presents.
Jaxton thought thas his cake was amazing.  He insisted upon having a baseball cake and he loved it.  Good ol' Costco does make wonderful cakes.  He was all about his presents this year which made it really fun.  When he turned 1 he didn't really get it and last year he could have cared less.  This year was the year of excitement!  He was so cute to watch.  He's such a little person now, I just can't believe how much he's growing into himself.  I love to watch him and listen to all the things that pop out of his mouth.  It's so funny, the things he says.
Baby Kayla had no problem getting in the middle of all of the excitement, too.  She practiced standing all day and I finally got a picture of it... finally!

The computer was a present from Mitch and me.  It was the highlight of his day.  He feels so big with his own computer to play on!

My birthday weekend

My birthday was yesterday and I had a wonderful birthday weekend.  Mitch surprised me and got me new phone which was such an exciting moment.  I so desperately needed a new phone and I feel like I have been waiting so long for my turn to get one.  It's my first touch-screen phone and I love it!  He loves it too.  He's pondering getting one.
Yesterday, Jaxton took me bowling.  Last week Mitch told me that Jaxton wanted to take me bowling for my birthday.  It's the first time that I've ever had the  "Mom experience" of my kid turning something around as if they are doing something nice for me, when really it turns out I'm just agreeing to something that they want to do.  It was so cute and without hesitation, I agreed.  I remember when we were little and did that to my Mom one year for Mother's Day.  We told her that we'd take her to the movies and she could see anything she wanted.  Of course, given the fact that we were kids, she treated herself and us to the movies and we ended up seeing Ninja Turtles.  Ahhh the things parents do for their children.  It's nice to see them smile and so innocently think that we parents have no comprehension of what just happened.

Anyway, we ended up going bowling and when we got there, they had a lane decorated for me with balloons and cake and streamers.  Jaxton and Kayla got a kick out of wearing party hats too.  We had such a fun time and we're doing it all again on Saturday for Jaxton's birthday...  Bowling, party hats, and all.

My baby is growing up!

I'm both happy and sad at the same time.  Kayla got her first tooth yesterday... her bottom right tooth... and the one next to it is ready to pop through at any time.  I think a little bit of it has but she doesn't really let me feel it for very long.  I'm so going to miss her little toothless smile.  It was so cute!  I'm so happy that she's healthy and developing as she should but I'm so sad that soon she won't be my little baby anymore.  I just can't believe how fast the time goes by...

Such a fun Easter

Easter was sooo fun this year!  Jaxton was all into it and thought it was amazing that the Easter Bunny left him a purple egg on a little blue chair in his room.  That was all he talked about all day.  If anyone asked him about Easter, his reply was always the same, "My big Easter Bunny left my purple egg in my blue chair in my room!!!"  He was so funny to watch and listen too.  Kayla cracked us up, too.  She loved the Easter baskets and even managed to swipe some candy and eat it.  She was not a happy girl when I wouldn't let her have a second and third malt ball.

It may look like she's screaming but she's just laughing really, really hard.  She loved the sight of the Easter Baskets.

This is a book that I couldn't pass up while Easter shopping.  It's called "I love you through and through".   So cute!

...I dug the second one out of her mouth.  Do you see the malt ball in her right hand?  Right as I dug the one out of her mouth, she shoved the other one in.  After that, I hid the candy.

Easter Egg Coloring

Last night we colored Easter eggs.  Every year gets more and more fun with Jaxton.  This year he really understood the whole coloring bit and really wanted to be involved in every little part, from the dissolving of the little color tablets to the dying of the eggs to putting them away to dry.  Kayla was just cranky because she thinks that anytime we are in the kitchen it means we're eating.  She was so upset because we wouldn't let her eat the eggs and drink the colored water.  Here are some pics...
