Intrigued with Grandpa John

Grandpa John made the trip up to Logan for Jaxton's birthday party and got some good quality time with Jenna.  She was so intrigued with him and it was so cute to watch.

Jaxton's Birthday Party

A few days ago we had Jaxton's Birthday party.  It was a small gathering of family and a neighbor friend of ours.  Jaxton had a lot of fun running around with water balloons and squirt guns, at least until he got stung by a wasp.  Luckily, our friend, Stephanie, was there to lend a hand... literally.  She let him squeeze it as hard as he wanted while Daddy took care of the sting.  We got him a scooter and he is surprisingly good at it.  No big falls yet... knock on wood.  That was pretty much it.  Now we are getting prepared to move on to Kayla's party.  I'm happy to move on to May... a much more relaxed month for us.

I'm looking at this picture, andI just want to point out that Mitch is not grossly sweaty.  He just got attacked with a water gun.  Anyhow, here they are fixing the sting.

 

I'd Rather Sleep

I sent Kayla in to go potty and she was being awfully quiet.  Usually she throws a tempertantrum and is quick to let me know when she is done, so she can get down.  She hates sitting on the toilet.  Well there was none of that this time, so I went to go check on her and this is what I found...

5 years old... What???!!!

On April 17th Jaxton turned 5.  How did he get so big?  He's officially a kid.  It seems like I was just pregnant with him...  I seriously can't wrap my head around the fact that it has been 5 years since he was born.  He's all about being 5, too.  We can tell that he just feels so big.  His newfound "I'm a big boy" independence gets him into trouble often, but at the same time it's kind of cute. 
On his actual birthday Mitch had to work, so we made some cupcakes and brought them into Panda so Mitch could celebrate with us.  Jaxton was so cute and thought that was his party.  He says to me, "Mommy, this is the best birthday party I've ever had!!!".  His actual birthday party will be on Sunday.  I'm curious to see if he'll realize that going to Panda Express so Daddy can have a cupcake with us is not a party.  Maybe he'll just think that he got two parties... cute boy.

Baby Animal Days

There is a place here in Logan called The American West Heritage Center, and every year they put on Baby Animal Days, where kids can go and interact with baby animals.  I took the kids and they had so much fun!  Their favorite part was the bunnies, I think because it was probably the only baby animal that was not as big as they were.  I personally loved watching them hold the little lambs.

They were so tiny against this big giant barn.  I loved it.  I couldn't even get the whole barn in, because if I did, we would hardly be able to see them.

A lot to catch up on...

Wow, I feel like I haven't posted anything in so long.  I don't even know if I can get it all down, but I will try.  Jenna is growing up like crazy.  She is such a mama's girl and I love it.  I could squish her for hours and she would let me, too.  She is eight months old now, I can't even believe it.  She sits, pulls herself up to standing position on anything and everything, crawls, tries to wave, loves to feed herself... still hates babyfood but loves when I cut things up in chunks so that she can pick it up and eat it by herself, loves to give hugs and cuddle, and hates sleeping.  She babbles like crazy and thinks Jaxton is so funny.  She loves to be held and spoiled, and I gladly do it, knowing she's my last one.  I just can't seem to keep her little, darn it.  The time is going by waaaayyyyy too fast!

Jenna also had her first trip to the park.  We had lots of fun going down the slide together, and I think we could have swung forever.

Jaxton is going to be 5 in a few days, which he is super excited about.  And soon after that, Kayla will be 3. 

We just had Easter and then my birthday, so things at my house are really busy.

Easter was really fun.  Jaxton and Kayla loved the idea of a basket full of candy and could have cared less about hunting for eggs.  They just got really excited to see me and Mitch end up hunting for them.  We made a much needed trip into Salt Lake to visit with Mom, James, Grandpa John, and Mark.  Thankfully, we got to stay for a couple of days.  We all had such a good time!  Thank you Mom, James, and Grandpa for spoiling all of us!  That's pretty much it, without going into too much detail.  It would take way too long.

Easter at Grandma's house

Among a whole bag full of goodies, they both got a gardening set.  Kayla loves, loves, loves, the gloves...

Grandpa James was the lucky one.  I think he got to hold Jenna the most.  She was pretty glued to me the whole time we were there.
